Session hosted by Save the Children International at 5th OGP Global Summit
On July 19, 2018, Save the Children International will host a session on child-friendly domestic resource mobilization within the frames of the 5th OGP Global Summit held in Tbilisi, Georgia.
The session will concentrate on the importance of open governance in achieving the SDGs for all children, particularly, through ensuring fair financing in the process of delivering basic services to children.
The session will be organized as a panel discussion with high-level panelists from civil society and government and with input from children followed by and open discussion.
Nora O’Connell, Associate Vice President leading Public Policy and Advocacy Department at Save the Children, US and Hagar Russ who leads the CRG Global Themewill be joined by high-level panelists from civil society, representatives from governments that have achieved concrete results in the area.
The objective of the session is to discuss the fundamental changes governments need to remove the financial, accountability and discriminatory barriers for children to access quality services.
Save the Children will present new research on how children can participate in governance and draw on learning from Save the Children’s programmes in more than 120 countries.
