HEART (Healing and Education Through Arts) Forum
. On June 29, 2021, HEART Forum – a joint event of Save the Children Georgia Country Office and National Preschool Association of Georgia was held. The Forum was dedicated to exchange of the experience in the field of implementation of new tools and approaches in the preschool education system and discussion of the existing opportunities in the area. The event was held to share the lessons learnt in the process of implementation of Save the Children’s HEART (Healing and Education Through Arts) methodology and ELM programme at kindergartens of Georgia. The event also provided a platform for discussing the importance of early interventions at the kindergarten level for the further development of the children with special educational needs. We presented successful examples of methodological and technical support provided by the Organisation for the purpose of early and preschool education system strengthening in Georgia. Particular attention was paid to the role of municipalities (the mandate of which encompasses management of the kindergartens), private and civic sectors in providing necessary support in the process of early education system strengthening across the country.
The event summarized the work conducted by SC for the purpose of supporting kindergartens through capacity building of teachers, introducing HEART tools, providing necessary developmental materials, booklets for parents and teachers. Said efforts proved to be particularly efficient in the times of COVID-19 pandemics
